CLIENT → Minja Koskela (Current chair of Left Alliance, Finland)

PROJECT SCOPE → Campaign’s visual identity, social media materials, flyers, flags, pins, bags, stickers and other campaign items

I designed all visual materials for Minja Koskela’s electoral campaign for the Parlament election in 2023. Koskela – a first time candidate – was elected, receiving most votes from the elected candidates in her party.

From the outset, the goal was to deliberately break away from traditional political campaign aesthetics. The approach was a strategic choice aligned with the candidate’s values, history and personality.

Instead of following visual codes familiar to political campaigns, I created a visual language that was closer to editorial design: expressive, refined, and emotionally engaging. The identity worked consistently across all platforms – as clear and recognizable online as in public spaces.

The result was a campaign that stood out clearly from the political mainstream. The visuals were widely appreciated by the target audience. The campaign became a point of pride for the team and a clear example of how bold visual choices can create meaningful engagement.

I also designed Koskela’s campaign materials in 2021, when she was elected to the City Council of Helsinki at the Finnish municipal elections. First time as a candidate, Koskela received 9th most votes in whole Finland.

Minja Koskela is the current chair of Left Alliance (Finland).
