Lead graphic designer at Amusement park Linnanmäki
CLIENT → Amusement park Linnanmäki, Finland
PROJECT SCOPE → All visual communication at the park, visual identity, merchandise, signage, wayfinding and guiding signs
I was the sole in-house graphic designer for Finland’s largest amusement park for over four years. At Linnanmäki I was responsible for the visual design of all communication materials across the park.
Linnanmäki is the oldest and most popular amusement park in Finland. It is visited by over 1 million guests annually. The 7.5 hectare park offers 42 rides, arcades, games, kiosks, restaurants, and organizes popular annual events.
My years at Linnanmäki, gave me deep experience in large-scale environments, user-focused design, and end-to-end visual communication, from concept to production and real-world use.
My work at the 7.5 hectare park covered a wide range of outputs, including maps, flyers, menus, signage, merchandise and package design, restaurant and café branding, event visuals, social media content, and photography.
Because the park environment is fast-paced and seasonal, my role required strong independence, adaptability, and practical problem-solving capabilities. I designed for a vide variety of audiences at once, while also ensuring clarity, safety, and brand consistency throughout the park. The audiences included groups, families, children of all ages, teenagers, adults, both locals and visitors from Finland and abroad.
A significant part of my work at the park involved wayfinding and informational signage. This included the design of a completely new visual signage system during the COVID-19 pandemic. The signage system included safety-related illustrations for rides and guidance signage, and developed a health and safety visual identity using the park’s mascot, Rolle the Clown, to make instructions friendly and accessible.
